Over the past month, our community has spent a lot of time and energy studying money, finances, and the magical ways of attracting abundance. There was a lot of bravery demonstrated in our study, and even more growth. Yes, we focus a TON of attention on how to run a practice in an automated way, but we also cover the grounds of what to do once your practice is ROCKIN' it. Boom. In walks money. Money is energy. Here we go with the energy talk...but hang tight! Money is a currency for goods, services and other energy. Energy in/energy out. Right? You can't disagree with that! Where attention goes, energy flows. Think water. Create a space for water to find, and the water will fill the space. And now money. Create the SPACE for money to grow, and watch what happens! How do you create space for money? With change. A lot of change. And not the coins that jingle in the bottom of your bag. The hard stuff. Replace the fear. I used to be in a place of TOTAL fear with all things MONEY. As I matured in practice (and in life) and starting to collect some savings, I began to recognize some old messaging that was no longer fitting my new skin (or matching my new gray hairs). I knew it had to change if I wanted to realize wealth growth. I would start to catch myself saying things like I can't afford that or I don't have enough. If I say that shit, I'm gonna create that shit. Doubt and fear are strong. Really strong. I would lose money, investments, or opportunities. I had what felt like bad juju, constantly making decisions about my practice and my budget that took me in circles. It was tiring and frustrating, and it went on and on...until I stopped it. Trust and love are stronger than doubt and fear. They say that the company you keep either brings you up or down. They are right. I got to a point (a few gray hairs later) where I wanted to change. My relationship with money was no longer serving me, my practice, or my family. I bought the books, took the classes, did the meditations. But the biggest game changer was in the company I kept. I started to choose people in my life who had what I wanted when it came to their relationship to money (and really the world in general). They were strong, and powerful, and saw themselves in a place of wealth. I emulated their courage and self-belief, and changed some very old habits. My words have been replaced with I don't want to put my energy there or I have plenty but I am going to choose no. This change took time and practice. I had to act as if for a while. And then, one day, I woke up and believed it. Really. Challenge yourself. Over the next 24 hours, watch how you talk about, think about, handle, organize, and spend money. The first step to any process of change is to identify that a change needs to happen. Take some time to be witness to the following:
Now, pen to paper. Write that shit out! Feel free to share below, or in our Facebook group any awesome AHA moments! I interviewed Dr. Janice Hughes, who is becoming one of my favorite people, and for sure a role model with maturity and money. Listen to her languaging. Take notes. Lean in.
